The Barbary Coast began during the Gold Rush in 1849 when the San Francisco population went into an explosion. The Barbary Coast was specifically a red-light district filled with jazz clubs, bars, dance halls, brothels, and variety shows. At the time it was the Wild West and the city’s infrastructure was still being created so the corridor remained lawless. Step into one of these tees and take a piece of SF history with you!
